RTB DECOMMODITIZES A PAINT CAN OPENER
The end client sent our client this generic opener and a price directly from a Chinese sourcing website. This could lead only to a price battle with every distributor it was sent to. Using our knowledge of production machinery and processes we suggested offering a completely customized piece that would allow our client to increase margins and “own” this business for years to come. The decommoditized version maintained the length, thickness and functionality of the original and has a similar unit cost. The end client loved the product and is working on substantially expanding the promotion.
